Wildfires Rage On in Northern Iran
Wildfires in the Hyrcanian forests of Mazandaran, northern Iran, which started on November 22, are persisting for the fifth consecutive day as of Monday, November 27. As reported by the ILNA news agency, three areas in the forests of Mazandaran province, specifically in the cities of Tonekabon, Nowshahr, and Savadkuh, have been affected by the fire since Wednesday morning. Given the weather forecast predicting warm winds and a rise in temperature on Monday and Tuesday, there is a potential for the fire to reoccur in other parts of the Mazandaran forests in the next two days.
Hossein-Ali Mohammadi, the director of crisis management in Mazandaran province, explained that the fire in the Shurab forests of Nowshahr and the upper areas of Tonekabon, initially challenging due to factors such as wind and difficult terrain, has been contained through the joint efforts of the public and protection forces. Mohammadi further noted that due to the fire in the upper area of Tonekabon, fallen and broken trees have also ignited.
A Deadly Regime
Even the Iranian regime must have sensed that it was committing a crime in the eyes of the world when it killed Hamidreza Asari. Not only because it carried out a death sentence on him, as it has done more than 600 times this year. Asari was 18 years old, it was officially said. Opposition activists, on the other hand, learned from a relative that Asari had just turned 17. His execution last Friday violated the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. However, this is not against Iranian law, according to which even 15-year-old teenagers are fully liable to prosecution. Whether Asari committed the murder he was accused of cannot be verified, and the Iranian judiciary alone is not a reliable source.

Guards’ Gunfire Claims Lives of Two Young Freight Carriers
On Sunday, November 26, security forces at Iran’s western border shot and killed two kulbars (poor freight carriers who transfer heavy loads for a living). According to local reports, Farooq Alizadeh, a 17-year-old kulbar, was hit by bullets at the Baneh border, leading to his death on Sunday morning. Another hardworking kulbar named Vaisi was seriously injured on Sunday night, also due to the security forces’ gunfire with a Kalashnikov rifle from behind. Despite being taken to Nowsud Hospital by locals, he succumbed to his injuries. Vaisi was married and left behind two children.
Key Iran Government Dissenter Tells Europe That Tehran Terrorism’s ‘Epicenter’
Maryam Rajavi, the leader of the largest international Iranian dissident organization, told members of the European Parliament this week that Iran remains the “epicenter” of terrorism.
“The head of the snake is in Tehran, the epicenter of terrorism and warmongering,” said Rajavi, the leader of the People’s Mujahedin Organization of Iran.
Rajavi’s remarks came a day after police in Spain arrested three people in connection with the Nov. 9 shooting of politician Alejando Vidal-Quadras in Madrid.
Vidal-Quadras, who was shot in the face, is one of the founders of the Spanish rightwing political party Vox.

The Swedish trial of a former Iranian regime prison official, linked to the 1988 massacre of political prisoners, has sparked global attention. The trial served as a stark reminder of the necessity to hold the perpetrators of historical human rights abuses accountable. As a regime that for more than forty years has sponsored violent abduction, hostage taking, kidnapping, blackmail, piracy, assassination, warmongering, and oppression, the Iranian dictatorship has no equal. They have plowed men and resources into proxy wars in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, and Gaza. They have openly backed terrorist organizations like Hezbollah and Hamas. Through the extra-territorial Quds Force wing of their Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), they have directed extremist operations throughout the Middle East and further afield, even sending registered diplomats on terror missions. Now, they are supplying kamikaze drones to Russia for use in their illegal war in Ukraine.

During her visit to the European Parliament, Maryam Rajavi met with several MEPs, among whom were Mr. Hannes Heide, MEP from Austria from the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, Mr. Francisco Guerreiro, MEP from Portugal from the Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance, and Ms. Patrizia Toia, MEP from Italy from the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, Vice-Chair of the EP Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, and a former Italian government minister.
In this meeting, she discussed the situation in Iran, the developments in the Middle East, and the activities of the Resistance with the representatives. Maryam Rajavi highlighted that the theocratic regime in Iran is perpetrating widespread executions and repression within the country to maintain its rule. Moreover, she emphasized the regime’s export of terrorism, fundamentalism, and warmongering beyond Iran’s borders. As Khamenei explicitly stated, this is aimed at avoiding internal conflicts and crises. To retain its grip on power, the regime lacks any other shield or solution in response to the uprisings by the Iranian people.
