Iran is Innovation Leader but Governance Laggard, Says INSEAD Study
A recent study, published by the renowned business school “INSEAD” in both the United States and France, has unveiled Iran’s remarkable strengths in fostering innovation and scientific talent in the year 2023. The study, based on the Global Talent Competitiveness Index, places Iran at the 116th spot out of 134 countries in the overall rankings. Iran shines in several key areas, including “innovation output,” “scientific journal publications,” “researchers,” “world university rankings,” and “urbanization.” Notably, Iran outperforms countries like India, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Egypt in these categories, ranking 37th or higher.
However, the study also highlights the clerical dictatorship’s governance, notably in “corruption,” “personal rights,” “political stability,” “rule of law,” “government effectiveness,” “economic empowerment of women,” and “women’s leadership opportunities.” In these areas, Iran’s performance is notably weak, placing it at lower ranks compared to many other nations, which hampers its overall standing in the index.
Despite its innovation potential, Iran faces significant hurdles due to these governance issues in preserving and utilizing its human capital effectively.

MP Admits to Dual Use of Regime in Internet Censorship
Today, a member of the Iranian regime’s parliament admitted to the systematic corruption within the clerical dictatorship, citing that the regime not only imposes political restrictions through internet censorship but also benefits economically from it.
According to the state-run website Fararu News, MP Javad Nikbin, stated in a TV interview, “I believe and say it explicitly that the authors of internet censorship plans are the same people who are also VPN sellers. In other words, those who develop filtering software either directly or indirectly sell VPNs.”
Nikbin further commented, “After we approached the Ministry of Communications, they raised their objections, insisting that the authorization you signed was meant for investigating sources outside the country. This is inaccurate; the investigation should focus on activities within the country, given that VPN sellers operate within our borders.”
Wednesday Protests in Iran
Retirees from the Social Security Organization of Shush and retirees and pensioners of the oil industry in Ahvaz staged another protest on Wednesday, November 8. They were expressing their dissatisfaction with the poor economic conditions and the lack of responsiveness to their demands.
Also today, the employees of the Aghajari Oil and Gas Exploitation Company organized a protest to express their frustration with the unmet legal demands.

Ted Cruz Alleges ‘Nearly $100 Billion’ Has Flowed From Biden White House to Iran
In a First on FOX Business interview, Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz criticized the Biden administration’s response to the conflict in the Middle East, claiming billions of dollars have flowed to one of America’s greatest adversaries under President Biden’s watch.
“You look at these 38 attacks, these 38 attacks came from Iran. You know who paid for the drones that are being used to attack U.S. soldiers? That would be Joe Biden and the Biden administration that has flowed nearly $100 billion to Iran,” Cruz said on “Varney & Co.” Tuesday.
“I would start with a very simple proposition: don’t give money to terrorists who want to kill you,” the senator continued. “This is something the White House does not seem to understand.”

State-affiliated Expert Speaks Out Against Selective Statistics and Misleading Data Sharing for the Public
Warning the Iranian regime’s leadership, Farshad Momeni, a state-affiliated economist, has suggested that while “baseless statistics” may be published to boost morale, it’s important to remember that the truth cannot be concealed.
In a meeting to discuss fraud and economic planning, Momeni said, “The government and parliament are currently facing a glaring contradiction. On the one hand, they claim unprecedented oil sales in the post-JCPOA period, while on the other hand, they are dealing with one of the most significant financial deficits in a year.”
“Now, if you visit the CIA website, you’ll find that their data is more comprehensive and up-to-date than many of our official sources. It’s been several years since they have been reporting on the trend of increasing financial intermediaries,” he highlighted.
The clerical dictatorship, known for its deceit and manipulation of the truth, has seen an upward trend of selective publication of statistics and adopting a more misleading approach under Ebrahim Raisi’s governance. In most cases, statistics are categorized as “security-related,” leading to their restriction from public access. This issue was confirmed a few months ago by Mohammadreza Farzin, the head of the Central Bank of the regime.

Khamenei Is the Enemy of Humanity, Iran, and Palestine
On Thursday, November 1, Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei spoke about the war in Gaza in a meeting with a group of the regime’s Basij members, the militias affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Khamenei once again showed that he is not only the worst enemy of the Iranian people but also the enemy of Palestine, Arab nations, and Muslims. He sees his decaying regime’s survival in warmongering and creating crises in the region. He demonstrated his indifference towards the killing of thousands and the devastating tragedy that has befallen the people of Gaza. In his speech, Khamenei, shedding crocodile tears for the devastated Gaza and the thousands of Palestinians who lost their lives, said, “With a deep look at the scene, it becomes clear that the victors of this field are the people of Gaza and Palestine who were able to accomplish great deeds.”

Small workshops with fewer than ten employees also face unique challenges, as certain labor laws may not apply to them. The website discusses the detrimental impact of temporary contracts on workers, emphasizing that extending a labor contract for a specified period doesn’t automatically make it permanent. This means that a worker who has been with a workshop for many years, despite multiple contract renewals, might risk losing their rights merely due to the expiration of the contract term, potentially leading to violations of their rights.

Hadis Eslami and 3 Other Women Are Killed by Husbands, Father
Three instances of femicide in Mashhad, Shiraz, and Zabol. The body of a young woman was found in Bahar village of Mashhad after two weeks. Hadis Eslami, 26, was a camerawoman from Mashhad who shot films for wedding ceremonies. Her mother and husband had reported her missing since October 21, 2023.

Iran’s Regime Closes Court Case of Teenager Killed By Security Forces
Abolfazl Adinehzadeh, a 16-year-old teenager and senior high school student majoring in electronics, was killed by security forces during Iran’s nationwide protests on October 8, 2022.
On the morning of October 8, 2022, his father dropped him off at school, and he was supposed to be at school until 2 p.m. However, around 11 a.m., he was shot with approximately 70 rubber bullets from a distance of less than one meter to his right side at the entrance of Ferdowsi University in Mashhad, northeast Iran. Despite doctors removing 27 bullets from his abdomen during surgery, he did not survive.
Marzieh Adinehzadeh, his sister, stated that if Farabi Hospital, which is near Ferdowsi University, had accepted Abolfazl, he would be alive now, but they did not admit the injured.
