German Intelligence Agency Report Warns Against Regime’s Terror Threats

In its annual report, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), Germany’s federal domestic intelligence agency, published details of the espionage, terrorist and cyber activities of the Iranian regime, especially against the opposition on German soil.

The report states: “Mainly the activities directed against Germany continue to come from the Ministry of Intelligence (VAJA, mostly MOIS abbreviated). Its focus is in particular on Iranian opposition groups that are active in Germany. Next to the MOIS, the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, which also acts as a secret service, is active in Germany.”

“Since 2019, Iranian intelligence services have repeatedly carried out costly, complex and professionally executed kidnappings of high-ranking targets from the opposition spectrum,” the report adds.” In some cases, these foreign operations are preceded by long-term reconnaissance activities. Individuals living in Germany can also become victims of such operations by Iranian authorities, especially when traveling to countries bordering Iran.”
