Iran Uprising at a Glance

Based partially on reporting by PMOI (MEK) Network in Iran

Thursday, April 13, 2023 – 8 PM GMT + 1

  • Days: 210
  • Protests: 282 cities
  • Fatalities: 750+ estimated deaths, 675 identified by MEK
  • Detentions: 30,000

Iran’s nationwide uprising marked its 210th day on Thursday as protesters in various cities of Iran continue their anti-regime measures once again through a renewed campaign of night rallies to express their utter hatred of the ruling dictatorship. Reports tallied by the Iranian opposition, Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK), suggests there have been more torching of pro-regime propaganda posters across the Iranian capital Tehran.

On Wednesday night, protesters in Rasht, northern Iran, torched a propaganda poster. This was in addition to the defiant youth’s operations, such as attacking the IRGC paramilitary Basij bases in Tehran, Shiraz, and Hamadan.

The MEK’s Resistance units have launched a new wave of anti-regime measures in Tehran and other cities in response to the mullahs’ compulsory hijab regulations and targeting of innocent schoolgirls in chemical gas attacks. Some of these measures include:

– MEK Resistance Units torched a sign associated with the regime’s Intelligence Ministry in Dezful

– MEK Resistance Units torched images of Khamenei and former IRGC Quds Force chief Qassem Soleimani in the cities of Sari, Rafsanjan, and Qazvin.

Locals in Tehran’s Punak and Shahrak-e Bagheri districts, and the town of Pardis in Tehran Province, were chanting anti-regime slogans on Wednesday night, including:

  • “Down with Khamenei!”
  • “Down with the dictator!”
  • “Protests will not end!”
  • “Release political prisoners!”
  • “Down with the child-killing regime!”

In Bandar Abbas, a major portal city in southern Iran, locals took to the streets to launch anti-regime protests and block roads on Wednesday night. Those demonstrating in the streets were also chanting anti-regime slogans, including:

  • “Khamenei, we will bury you!”
  • “This is the year Seyed Ali (Khamenei) is overthrown!”

In this week’s Iran uprising brief, we have included a short video clip on the activities of MEK-affiliated Resistance Units in Iran for the week of April 2 to April 8, which sheds light on the scale of activities undertaken inside Iran at great risk.
