Mullahs’ regime introduces new suppressive “Customs Police” in Iran

The State Security Forces (SSF) Director of Security announced the new formation of “Customs Police” in Iran, the state-run Television reported on February 14.

The SSF’s Director of Security, Brig. Gen. Fariborz Behravesh said, “The Customs police will be created to increase the security of passengers. In its first stage it includes 39 cities which eventually will be extended to the rest of the country.”

From the start of the year, this has been the eleventh police force which has been set up to suppress popular uprisings and demonstrations. The previous forces are as follows: District Police, Youth Police, Dormitory Police, Undercover Police, Mountain Police, Mehr Police, Metro Police, School Police, Women’s Police, and Tourism Police. The purpose of these forces is to combat the volatile state of the society.
