Canada Imposes Sanctions on 2 Iranian Individuals, 3 Entities

OTTAWA, Jan 9 (Reuters) – Canada is imposing sanctions on two Iranian individuals and three entities over human rights violations, the Canadian foreign ministry said in a statement on Monday.

Iran’s judiciary has sentenced three more anti-government protesters to death on charges of “waging war on God”, its Mizan news agency reported on Monday, defying growing international criticism over its fierce crackdown on demonstrators.

UK Summons Top Iranian Diplomat Following Latest Executions

LONDON, Jan 9 (Reuters) – Britain’s foreign minister James Cleverly summoned Iran’s most senior diplomat on Monday after Iranian authorities executed protestors Mohammad Mahdi Karami and Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini.

“Today I have summoned the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires to condemn in the strongest possible terms the abhorrent executions we witnessed over the weekend,” Cleverly said in a statement.

Norway Summons Iran Ambassador Over Executions

(AFP) Norway’s foreign ministry said Monday it had summoned Iran’s ambassador to Oslo for talks after the execution of demonstrators protesting the death of Mahsa Amini.

Iran’s judiciary on Monday sentenced to death three more people accused of killing members of the security forces during the protests.

Iran’s nationwide uprising marked its 116th day on Monday as angry protesters gathered outside Gohardasht Prison in Karaj, a major city located west of the Iranian capital Tehran, to protest and prevent the mullahs’ regime from executing the two young prisoners, Mohammad Ghobadlou and Mohammad Broghani, who were transferred to solitary confinement on Sunday night local time in preparation for their execution early Monday morning.

Ghobadlou and Broghani were sentenced to death after being tortured into coerced confessions and without due process even according to the regime’s own laws.

The protesters chanted anti-regime slogans in their rally, including: “I will kill those who killed my brother!” and “This is the last message: another execution and there will be more uprisings!”

In Lorestan Province, western Iran, locals attacked buildings associated to the regime’s security forces and their agents with Molotov cocktails.

In Bukan, northwest Iran, locals gathered to mark the 40th day of Avat Ghaderpour’s murder by regime security forces and began chanting: “Death to the oppressor! Be it the Shah or [Khamenei]!”

In Eshtehard, west of Tehran, locals gathered to honor Mohammad Mehdi Karami and Seyed Mohammad Hosseini and laid flowers at their final resting place. Security forces go the distance to prevent such gatherings that usually turn into anti-regime protests.

In Jam, Bushehr Province, southern Iran, protesters used Molotov cocktails in targeting the regime’s IRGC paramilitary Basij base.

In Saveh, south of Tehran, auto parts manufacturing workers went on strike demanding answers to their poor living conditions and other problems.

In Esfahan, central Iran, Judiciary News Agency announced today the death sentence for three youths arrested during the demonstrations.

In Dashti city of Hormozgan province, southern Iran, the brave youths symbolically hung Khamenei’s effigy from a lamp post.

In  Ekbatan region of Tehran, the courageous youth hung Khamenei’s effigy from an overpass on a highway in broad daylight.

More EU Nations To Summon Iran Envoys Over Executions

(AFP) Denmark and Belgium said Sunday they would summon Iran’s ambassadors after Tehran executed two men linked to protests over the death of Mahsa Amini, with fresh EU sanctions “on the table”.

The announcements came shortly after fellow EU nation the Netherlands announced similar action.

Iran’s envoy to Denmark will be summoned “to send him the strongest possible and imaginable message that the abuses committed against his people trigger our outrage”, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen told news agency Ritzau.

Foreign Minister Hoekstra Summons Iranian Ambassador Over Executions

Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra has summoned the Iranian ambassador over the “horrific executions of protesters” in the country, he announced on Twitter. “I call on all EU member states to do the same.”

In his tweet, Hoekstra referred to the deaths of two protesters earlier in the day. Two men, aged 20 and 22, were hanged for alleged involvement in the killing of a soldier, authorities said.

The Dutch government already summoned the Iranian ambassador last month after protesters were killed. Hoekstra pointed out that in the European context, new sanctions against the Iranian regime are in the pipeline. “Today’s actions call for an even stronger EU response,” the Foreign Minister said.

Germany: Iranians Held in Suspected Poison Plot After Us Tip

BERLIN (AP) — Two Iranian men have been detained in Germany following a tip from U.S. security officials that at least one of them could be planning an attack with deadly chemicals, officials said Sunday.

Police and prosecutors said the brothers, aged 32 and 25, were detained overnight in the town of Castrop-Rauxel, northwest of Dortmund.

The authorities said in a joint statement the men are suspected to have planned a serious attack motivated by Islamic extremism, for which they had allegedly sought to obtain the potent toxins cyanide and ricin.

Iran’s People Mark PS752 Downing Anniversary as Protests Continue

Iran-Protests-January-8-2023-696x391-1Iran’s nationwide uprising is marking its 115th day on Sunday as the nation honors the memory of 176 innocent people onboard Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS752 that was shot down by Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) three years ago today. The Iranian people both inside the country and abroad hold regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the IRGC fully accountable for this deliberate and premeditated atrocity.

Protests in Iran have to this day expanded to at least 282 cities. Over 750 people have been killed and more than 30,000 are arrested by the regime’s forces, according to sources of Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

Iranians Commemorated the Victims of the PS752 – Day 115 of Revolution

Today Iran’s people continued their nationwide protests to mark the third anniversary of the downing of a Ukrainian passenger plane (PS752) by the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC). In various cities, protests took place in several locations.

Judicial authorities in Canada and Ukraine, government officials and human rights organizations, and the family members of the victims consider this crime as an ‘intentional shooting’ and ‘human shield’ and not what the regime constantly claimed: a ‘human error’.
