Germany Formally Suspends Guarantees for Business With Iran
BERLIN (AP) — The German government said Friday it is formally suspending export credit and investment guarantees for business in Iran in the wake of authorities’ crackdown on protests.
The Economy Ministry said it also has suspended other “economic formats,” including a dialogue on energy issues, in view of “the very serious situation in Iran.”
Export credit guarantees protect German companies from losses when exports aren’t paid for. Investment guarantees are granted to protect direct investments by German companies from political risk in the countries where they are made.

In ceremonies marking the 40th day of the martyrdom of Issa Biglari in Sanandaj, Omid Zare’e Mo’ayedi in Shiraz, and Morad Bahramian in Semirom, the people chanted, “Death to Khamenei” and “We pledge to the martyrs that we will stand to the end.”
In a moving ceremony in Sanandaj for Issa Biglari, 39, his family and a large crowd gathered to pay tribute, while chanting, “Martyrs don’t die.”
In Qahdarijan, in the central Isfahan province, defiant youth torched a local IRGC paramilitary Basij base.

In Sistan and Baluchistan province, southeast Iran, people in different cities staged large-scale protests following the Friday prayer congregations, including in provincial capital Zahedan and Rask. A large crowd of demonstrators in Zahedan, chanted a variety of slogans, including “This is the last message: another execution and there will be an uprising!”, “Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!”, “Death to Khamenei!”, “Death to the IRGC!”, “We pledge on our compatriots’ blood that we are standing to the end!”, “Death to Basij!” They also chanted: “Khamenei is a tyrant; we’ll bury him!”, “Death to [Khamenei] for all these years of crimes!”, “Political prisoners must be freed!”, “IRGC and Basij are our ISIS!”, and “Death to Khamenei! Damned be Khomeini!”

Reacting to the protests in the province, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the NCRI’s President-elect said: “Today again, our fellow Baluch compatriots came to the streets in Zahedan. They rebuffed the regime and its accomplices with chants of “death to Khamenei,” “My dear brother, we will avenge your blood,” and “We will not surrender; we will die or be victorious.”

Continued Protests Seen Across Iran as Uprising Nears Centennial
Iran’s nationwide uprising is marking its 98th day on Thursday following a day of various protest rallies, gatherings, nightly marches, and strikes. Protesters have continued to voice their opposition to the mullahs’ regime through various slogans, including “Death to Khamenei!” and “Death to the dictator!” referring directly to regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Protests in Iran have to this day expanded to at least 280 cities. Over 750 people have been killed and more than 30,000 are arrested by the regime’s forces, according to sources of the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). The names of 601 killed protesters have been published by the PMOI/MEK.
Flogging and Prison Sentences for Detainees of Nationwide Iran Protests
The mullahs’ regime continues to issue sentences for those arrested during the nationwide Iran protests. The following report is a collection of news about the flogging and prison sentences handed down for some women arrested during the protests.
Sara Baluch and Fatemeh Baluch Kari were sentenced to 9 months imprisonment and 148 lashes by the Zahedan Revolutionary Court, which communicated the verdict to them.
Iran Revolution Continues – Day 98
On Thursday, December 22, 2022, citizens from different walks of life continued anti-regime protests, strikes, and activities despite the regime’s oppressive measures.
Furthermore, the families and relatives of slain protesters attended their loved ones’ graves, marking the Yalda celebration. In Tehran, many citizens partook in Behesht Zahra cemetery and commemorated the late Yalda Aghafazli, Mohsen Shekari, and Siavash Mahmoudi. Similar events were seen at the grave of Hamid-Reza Rouhi in Bandar Anzali, Peyman Moniri in Sanandaj, and the graves of Hannaneh Kia and Hossein-Ali Kiakajouri in Nowshahr.
