The members of the European Union as a single body must stand against the weakening of anti-terrorism laws.
Iran’s terrorist-supporting regime not only commits assassinations but has fueled insecurity in the world by taking hostages and political extortion.

In 2018 four terrorists under the leadership of Iranian diplomat Assadollah Assadi planned to bomb a gathering of 100,000 people of the Iranian opposition in Villepinte, which failed and all the terrorists were arrested with bombs and terrorists and espionage documents. The target of the bombers was Maryam Rajavi. He was supposed to give a speech in front of tens of thousands of people in a covered hall, along with six hundred international personalities from four continents. According to experts, the explosive used in the bomb had great destructive power, and thousands of people would have been killed and injured in the event of an explosion.

After three years of investigation, in this case, the Belgian court issued definitive sentences of 20 years for the first tier accused, Iranian diplomat Assadollah Assadi, 18 years each for Nasime Naomi and Amir Saadouni, and 17 years for Mehrdad Arefani.

Recently in a meeting with the ambassador of the Iranian regime, the Belgian government decided to send the convicts imprisoned in the two countries to their pleasant country to serve their sentences. The convicts of this terrorist case have each spent 4 years of their sentence in Belgian prisons. As a result of this stupid agreement, the terrorist diplomat Assadollah Assadi and his accomplices, who had the mission of bombing Paris on behalf of the highest officials of the Iranian regime, will spend the rest of their sentences in Iranian prisons.

In the framework of this agreement, the Belgian government has sent a bill to the parliament as a matter of urgency, which, with the approval of this bill, Iranian terrorists will be returned to Iran for the duration of their sentence.

This agreement is a source of shame for the Belgian government, and if this bill is approved by the parliament, it is not only shameful but humiliating for the Belgian government and nation. Calling for submission to the bloodthirsty regime that assassinated 120,000 of its opponents inside Iran and hundreds of opposition members outside Iran is a green light to continue executions and assassinations. If this bill is approved and implemented. From now on, the terrorist mercenaries of the Iranian regime will carry out their operations in Europe without worry because they are sure that they will return to Iran after a short period of detention and, like other terrorists who have returned to Iran so far, they will be especially welcomed by the government leaders. And they will be encouraged for their crimes.

In this case, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi addressed: “Iranian compatriots, lawyers, political figures, representatives of Belgium, the European Parliament and other European Parliaments to take immediate action to prevent the approval of this bill.” She said: “The plan of the great massacre in Paris could have become the biggest terrorist incident in Europe. If this bill is approved, religious fascism will become more active in terrorist acts, and no one in Europe will have security and immunity against the murderers ruling Iran.”

The Committee of Romanian Parliamentarian for a Free Iran strongly condemns the agreement between the Belgian government and the Iranian ambassador and considers it a violation of the independence of the judiciary and a threat to all EU member states. He hereby strongly requests the Belgian parliament to vote against this bill and stop it at this stage.
