Iran Protests: A Brief Report of What Happened on Iranian Streets from March 6th-9th

Karaj, Central Iran- For the second consecutive day, workers of Iran Kaveh Saipa Company went on strike on Wednesday, March 9, protesting poor living conditions and low wages. Initially, the workers wanted to hold their rally in front of Saipa Company, but the managers of the enterprise in question did not allow them to leave the company’s premises and turned them down. Iran Kaveh Saipa Company is a subsidiary of Saipa Automotive Company.

Tehran- Today, interns at Iran University of Medical Sciences continued their strike for the third consecutive day against 11-month arrears of student scholarships. The students also demanded an increase in student scholarships, adequate living conditions, and the payment of internships.

On Tuesday, March 8, a group of retirees of Iran Telecommunication Company from the provinces of Tehran, Alborz, Khorasan Razavi, Tabriz, Qom, Shiraz, Isfahan, Ahvaz, Ilam, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Zanjan, Lorestan, Markazi province, Mazandaran, Ardabil, and Yazd staged rallies protesting poor living conditions and low pensions.
