Despite threats of “serious consequences”, Parliament’s foreign affairs committee met Maryam Rajavi on Monday
Nettavissen, Norway, November 7 – Last week, Iran’s ambassador to Norway warned against the meeting between Maryam Rajavi, leader of the opposition, and the foreign affairs committee. The parliament’s security service examined these threats during the weekend with the head of safety, yet on Tuesday, the Norwegian officials met Maryam Rajavi.

Nettavissen, Norway, November 7 – Last week, Iran’s ambassador to Norway warned against the meeting between Maryam Rajavi, leader of the opposition, and the foreign affairs committee. The parliament’s security service examined these threats during the weekend with the head of safety, yet on Tuesday, the Norwegian officials met Maryam Rajavi.
She stated during this meeting that she did not want a nuclear Iran.
Mohammad Mohaddessin, foreign affairs chief of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, told Nettavissen: “Maryam Rajavi, leader of the opposition, and I are categorically opposed to a nuclear Iran”.
Rajavi and Mohaddessin called on Norway to impose comprehensive sanctions on Iran.
Mohammad Mohaddessin: “We are here to inform the Norwegian authorities that Iranians are still being killed by the regime. The majority of Iranians do not want this regime. Yet there is a huge, serious problem. Norway and the other Western countries seek oil and gas contracts with Iran. We hope that Norway and the Norwegian companies will do something about that”.
He added that the Iranian regime did not represent genuine Islam.
Mohaddessin: “Islam is a religion of tolerance which encourages peace with everybody. Moreover, Islam respects human rights. But this regime treats opponents, political prisoners and religious and ethnic minorities most badly. The Iranian regime is an extremist regime.”
Maryam Rajavi, leader of the Iranian opposition, presented Erna Solberg, vice-president of the foreign affairs committee, with a book illustrated with the pictures of the people assassinated by the Iranian regime.
Maryam Rajavi: “Instead of dialogue, we call for a boycott. Dialogue has completely failed.”
Maryam Rajavi’s life is in constant danger. Iran’s ambassador to Norway vigorously opposed this meeting at the Parliament.
