Norway: Unacceptable threats from Iran regime

Aftenposten, November 5 – The Norwegian Foreign Ministry sharply reacted to the Iranian ambassador’s threats about the meeting planned with the leader of the Iranian opposition at the Parliament.

The Undersecretary of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs Raymond Johansen stated: “We do not have any cordial and passionate relations with Iran”.

Raymond Johansen, from the Labor Party, said on TV2: “Norwegian officials meet whoever they want. This has nothing to do with any ambassador. This is unacceptable”.

He clearly stated that Norway would not let anyone put pressure on them. “These are threats to the future of relations between Norway and Iran. Presently, we do not have any cordial and passionate relations with Iran. We do have serious relationships with embassies in our mutual countries. I cannot give any credit to this matter.”
