Iran Election 2021: Briefing on the Turnout in the Iran Regime Sham Presidential Election – No 3

Recent updates on the turnout in Iran regimes sham election

With Farid Mahoutchi of NCRI Foreign Affairs Committee

Good evening everyone,
Welcome to our election briefing!

Based on reports by 710 INTV reporters from 323 cities, and 2,100 video clips, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), announced this afternoon that by 6:00 pm Tehran time, the turnout in the mullahs’ election farce had been sparse, with the exception of polling stations stage-managed for foreign journalists in Tehran and city centers.

State Security and Intelligence agents arrested several citizens and several INTV reporters who were taking photos and videos and deleted the material from their cell phones. Taking videos and photos is forbidden in many places.

Buying votes outside the polling stations were commonplace. Even the ordinary prisoners were told they will be rewarded with three days’ leave for voting.

In the southwestern city of Ahvaz workers were each paid 50,000 rials to vote. In Chamakhale Langerod, each vote was bought for between two and 2.5 million rials. Out-of-town people were brought in from the surrounding cities, especially Tazeh Abad and Amlesh. There was a minder for every 10 people to make sure they would vote for Ebrahim Raisi.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), described the nationwide boycott of the clerical regime’s sham election as the greatest political and social blow to the mullahs’ Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the ruling theocracy and worthy of a historic congratulation to the people of Iran.

She added that the boycott proved and showed the world that the Iranian people’s only vote is to overthrow this medieval regime. This is the groundswell of the martyrs’ sacrifices and reflects the Iranian people’s great campaign for justice. The religious dictatorship is in a downward spiral and must be swept aside.

Mrs. Rajavi emphasized that the religious dictatorship will emerge out of this sham election more disgraced, vulnerable, and fragile. It is bound to perpetuate greater crimes with the henchman of the 1988 massacre (Ebrahim Raisi). However, the Iranian people’s uprising and the Army of Freedom will certainly overthrow it. Freedom and a democratic republic are the Iranian people’s inalienable rights.
