Iran: Coronavirus Takes Away the Lives of More Than 313,300

Rouhani: While the Coronavirus continues to take away people’s lives and while only a few percent of the population have been vaccinated so far, Rouhani brazenly said today, “One of his greatest achievements and honors is the revolution in the health system, (building) so many hospitals, providing so much equipment, so many doctors and nurses, and so many diagnostic devices!”

  • Health Ministry-COVID-19 status: Currently, there are 22 red cities, 175 orange cities, 251 yellow cities, and no blue cities.
  • Alireza Zali, head of the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT) in Tehran: In the fourth outbreak compared to the third one, we had a 43% increase in COVID-19 inpatients and a 48% increase in outpatients.
  • Bushehr University of Medical Sciences: We have 400 COVID-19 patients a day. This number was 250 three weeks ago. Daily hospitalization has also increased from 250 to 350.
  • Qazvin University of Medical Sciences: The Coronavirus hospitalizations have increased by more than 5% compared to yesterday

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Thursday, June 17, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 547 cities had exceeded 313,300. The number of victims in Tehran has reached 73,436, Isfahan 21,065, Khuzestan 19,726, Khorasan Razavi 19,050, East Azerbaijan 12,833, West Azerbaijan 11,773, Fars, 10,502, Alborz 8,938, Golestan 7,495, Kermanshah, 6,093, Hormozgan 4,290, Zanjan 3,415, and South Khorasan 2,881.
