Iran: German lawmakers call for tough measures against mullahs

NCRI – In a special session at the German Bundestag (parliament), members from different political parties expressed their grave concern over the Iranian regime’s nuclear ambitions.

Paul Schaefer, from the German united left group expressed fear that the Non-Proliferation Treaty was at risk by Iranian regime’s nuclear stand off and the North Korean nuclear crisis. 

Karl Theodor Zugutenberg of Christian Democratic Party underlined the need to deal decisively with the Iranian regime’s nuclear ambitions.

The Green Party member, Joergen Tritien, also expressed his concern and said that if the regime acquired nuclear weapons it would have grave consequences for the world peace. He reiterated that necessary measures should be adopted to prevent the regime to acquire nuclear weapons.

Another member of the Christian Democratic Party, Robert Hochbaum, stressed that sanctions should be imposed against the regime in Iran to make the mullahs to comply with the demands of the international community.

Similarly, other members expressed their concerns and called for urgent and decisive measures against the regime.
