Protests and Rallies Throughout Iran on Monday
Iranians in different cities and from various backgrounds took to the streets on Monday to make their voices heard. Reports show that Telecom workers in Urmiah, Tabriz, and Semnan, copper mine workers in Anjerd, workers of the Saipa factory, teachers in Tehran, defrauded bank account holders in Damavand, citizens of Saravan, engineers, and contractors in Shiraz, as well as municipal workers in Kermanshah were among the protesting groups.

Iran: COVID-19 Death Toll in 541 Cities Exceeds 290,100
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Sunday, May 16, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 541 cities had exceeded 290,100. The number of victims in Tehran has reached 67,471, Isfahan 19,200, Khuzestan 17,949, Khorasan Razavi 17,770, East Azerbaijan 11,858, Lorestan 11,785, West Azerbaijan 10,823, Gilan 9,881, Qom 9,485, Fars 9,422, Alborz 7,958, Kerman 6,508, Kermanshah 5,744, Semnan 5,045, Yazd 4,952, Hormozgan 3,400, and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 2,380.

Iran: Pensioners, Retirees Hold Weekly Protest Rally in Several Cities
Sunday marked another round of protests by retirees and pensioners of the Social Security Organization, who took to the streets and held protest rallies in spite of a growing wave of repressive measures by the Iranian regime. The protest rallies, which are the latest in a series of events coordinated and organized on social media, took place in front of the offices of the Social Security Organizations in several cities, including Tehran, Karaj, Kermanshah, Khorram Abad, and Mashhad.
