Fearing Iran’s restive society, the regime’s Police force held a maneuver on the Eve of the Persian New Year of 1400 in Tehran. This maneuver further confirms mullahs’ fear of another uprising. “Coinciding with the last day of [Persian New Year of ] 1399, the Tehran Police held a military maneuver on Saturday morning, March 21, 2021. This maneuver was held in the presence of the Chief of Police, Tehran Police Chief, and Tehran Governor Anoushirvan Mohseni Bandapi in Azadi Square. Greater Tehran police forces demonstrated their capabilities in Azadi Square,” wrote the state-run Fars news agency on Sunday, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

Iran: Khamenei admits his regime is in a deadlock

In his yearly Nowruz address, Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei implicitly admitted that his regime is in a bad situation by complaining that some try to “create a negative impression… and show that we are headed for a dead end.”

Khamenei’s own remarks clearly showed that at the beginning of the Persian calendar year, the mullahs’ regime is engulfed in a multitude of unsolvable crises. While in previous years, Khamenei openly endorsed the so-called “reformist” maneuvers by some of the factions of the regime, this time, he stressed the need to unify the entire regime around a hardline narrative.

The story began when the state-run daily “Sobh-e-Sadegh”, the Journal of the Political Deputy of the Revolutionary Guards, on March 7, under the title “The Z generation and the Future of Iran” investigated the characteristics of the new generation born in Iran from 2000 onwards.

In his first European trip, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is scheduled to meet European foreign policy leaders this week. A major topic of discussion will be the Iranian regime and how to deal with the threats it poses to regional and international peace and security.

Any potential negotiations with the Iranian regime should take into account its dangerous missiles program. It is evident that the Iranian regime’s activities since the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) have not demonstrated that the nuclear agreement has been successful. That is because the missile program is a critical issue on both sides of the Atlantic.
