Iran HRM: Arrest of Kurdish citizens continues in Iran
Taha Atashafraz was arrested on Sunday following an ongoing wave of arbitrary arrests in Iran. Security forces arrested him without presenting an arrest warrant & transferred him to an undisclosed location.
Arezoo Mostafaei, 17, a poet and novelist from Marivan, western Iran was summoned to the city’s Intelligence Office on February 5, and arrested the same day. She was released 3 days later after signing a written pledge. She has been beaten by interrogators during her detention.
115 Iranian Kurds were arrested in the past month.

Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 480 Cities Surpasses 212,000
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMO/MEK) announced on Saturday, February 6, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 480 cities had exceeded 212,000. The number of victims in Tehran is 51,041, Khorasan Razavi 14,260, Isfahan 13,525, Khuzestan 10,550, Mazandaran 8,797, Lorestan 8,628, West Azerbaijan 7,813, Gilan 7,556, Golestan 5,489, Yazd 3,892, Qazvin 2,339, Zanjan 2,285, Hormozgan 2,240, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 1,700, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 1,574.

Activist women arrested and detained in cities across Iran
Intelligence agents arrested and jailed several activist women in cities across the country.
Agents of the Ministry of Intelligence broke into the house of Ms. Roya Jalali and arrested her on February 2, 2021. Presently, there is no information available on the reason for her arrest or her whereabouts.
Ms. Jalali is a Kurdish activist with two children. She suffers from MS (multiple sclerosis). Her husband, Khabat Mafakheri, is an environmental activist in Sanandaj who was temporarily freed on bail after four months of detention on January 7.

Protests continue as Iran’s stock market downturn deepens
Saturday morning marked another steep decline in Tehran’s stock market, with the TEDPIX index dropping by another 22,000 points to stand at 1.15 million, almost half of its 2-million-point peak in August. The downturn has wiped out the investments of thousands of middle-class Iranians, who invested in the stock market with the blessings and encouragement of regime president Hassan Rouhani and supreme leader Ali Khamenei. Meanwhile, large investors with links to the regime have made huge profits by manipulating the stock market with the help of top regime officials.
Iranians Continue Protests; at Least Three Rallies and Strikes on February 5
On Friday, February 5, Iranian citizens held at least three rallies and protests, blaming officials for failing to give them their inherent rights. In Karaj city, Alborz province, citizens vented their anger over municipal agents’ brutal behavior against a garbage collector and rescued the poor man.
