Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 475 Cities Exceeds 193,300
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Monday, December 28, 2020, that the number of Coronavirus death toll in 475 cities had exceeded 193,300. The number of victims in Tehran is 47,496, Isfahan 11,700, Lorestan 7,763, Qom 7,560, Mazandaran 7,312, West Azerbaijan 7,222, Fars 5,920, Alborz 5,075, Golestan 4,767, Hamedan 4,615, Kerman 4,194, Qazvin 2,002, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 1,389.
Society of Iranian Women for Democracy Holds Online Conference, Protesting Iran’s Misogynous Government
The conference “Unity to End Violence Against Women,” was attended by several US political and academic figures and members of the US Congress, as well as a number of California officials. Some of the participants were:

Former Iran anti-narcotics head says drug-related executions not deterrent
Speaking to the state-run ROKNA News Agency, Ali Hashemi cited official statistics that showed 5.5% of Iranians between the ages of 15 to 60 used narcotics.
“In 1980 or 1981, if we confiscated 10 tons of narcotics, we should have now reached one ton. But last year, we confiscated 800 tons. This shows that executions did not in any way serve as a deterrent,” the former Secretary-General of the Anti-narcotics Headquarters added.
167 pharmacists call Iran’s claim of making COVID-19 vaccine “a joke”
One hundred and sixty-seven pharmacists criticized the Head of Iran’s Food and Drugs Administration in a letter challenging its claim of producing a national COVID-19 vaccine.
“How do we dare claim that we can produce this vaccine?” they wrote in an open letter.
The pharmacists called the regime’s claims of making a national COVID-19 vaccine a “joke” and wrote that many countries have started the COVID-19 vaccination. They also criticized the procurement of the vaccine by Iran as “horribly disorganized.”
Three prisoners die in Evin Prison due to Coronavirus infection
Three prisoners have died in Evin Prison in Tehran in the period between December 24 and 28. The three prisoners suffered from the COVID-19, but they had been abandoned by Evin dispensary officials without any medical treatment.
On Monday, December 28, Amir Hossein Mottaghian died of COVID-19 in Ward 4 of Evin Prison. He fell down on the ground and went unconscious. He died after being transferred to the dispensary. The clinic officials said he had died of heart stroke.

Nejat Anvar Hamidi denied medical leave by Ahvaz Department of Intelligence
The Department of Intelligence of Ahvaz has prevented political prisoners Nejat Anvar Hamidi Karoun, 62, from going on medical leave despite her dire physical condition.
Political prisoner Nejat Anvar Hamidi Karoun suffers from thyroid malfunction, hypertension, high blood fat, eye problems and is at risk of losing her eyesight. But the Department of Intelligence of Ahvaz opposes and prevents her from going on medical leave.
