NCRI – Growing number of Iraqi political groups and personalities support the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran’s stay in Iraq. In a recent letter to the commander of the Multi-National Forces-Iraq, the Secretary General of the Iraqi National Dialogue Council and a member of the Parliament, Khalaf al-Olyan, said: "During the 20 years of their stay in Iraq, the PMOI has been the guest of the Iraqi people and has never committed any wrongdoing, rather it has always maintained a brotherly and friendly relationship with the Iraqi people."
Mr. Khalaf al-Olyan added: "We recognize their stay in Iraq as political refugees based on Geneva Conventions and international laws."
Last June some 5.2 million Iraqis declared their support for the PMOI and its stay in Iraq. In their statement which was widely publicized in the national dailies, they also condemned the Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq.
