The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced this afternoon, Saturday, October 24, 2020, that the number of Coronavirus fatalities in 460 cities had exceeded 131,700. The number of victims in Tehran is 31,751, Khorasan Razavi 9,892, Isfahan 7,172, Lorestan 5,678, East Azerbaijan 4,656, Hamedan 3,545, West Azerbaijan 3,773, Alborz 3,653, Sistan and Baluchestan 3,571,Fars 3,451, Kermanshah 2,833, Kurdistan 2,366, Kerman 2,050, Yazd 1,981, Bushehr 1,567, Qazvin 1,322, Ilam 1,089, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 1,012, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 964.

Khamenei opts to curb civil liberties over solving Iran’s many crises
Unable to deal with Iran’s growing poverty, economic crisis, and the COVID-19 epidemic that has ravaged the country, the regime’s Supreme Leader has opted to increase suppression to intimidate Iranians into silence and prevent protests. In their Friday sermons, Khamenei’s representatives lashed out against civil liberties, including “lack of hijab” and “dog walking”, once again signaling where the regime’s priorities lie.

Arbitrary arrests in Iran target civil and student activists – Intelligence agents arrested a number of civil and student activists on October 16, 2020. They included Elham Samimi, Bahareh Soleimani, Somayyeh Kargar, and Nahid Taghavi.
Elham Samimi is a student of anthropology at Tehran University.
Somayyeh Kargar is a graduate student of philosophy from Tabriz University. She was arrested at home. She is a Kurdish civil activist.

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?
Sunday, October 25, 2020, marks the 338th day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.
