In recent days, many state-run media have warned for the explosive state of Iran’s society a repeat of the November 2019 major protests. Hossein Nouraninejad, a journalist affiliated with the so-called reformist current, told the daily Etemad on Wednesday: “[The November protests] are not over. Now and then, the wounds of those catastrophic days reopen and burn the soul of society.” Nouraninejad added, “The last incident was the suicide of Amir Hossein Moradi’s father, who was one of the arrested of those days… The result of the revolts was the announcement of the high and unexpected number of dead and wounded, which showed the extent of violent protests.”

Mina Rad, poetess and writer from Lorestan, sent to Qarchak Prison

Mina Rad is from the city of Doroud in Lorestan Province, western Iran. The Lor poetess and writer was summoned to the media and culture court on July 4, 2020. The court tried her on the charge of “propaganda against the state” and sentenced her to two months in prison and a suspended sentence of 8 months in jail. The Revision Court upheld her sentence on August 23, 2020. She was transferred to Qarchak Prison on September 24, 2020.

The number of victims in Khorasan Razavi is 8,429, Khuzestan 7,383, Isfahan 5,614, Mazandaran 5,392, Lorestan 5,018, Gilan 4,581, East Azerbaijan 3,838, Golestan 3,331, Fars 3,056, Hamedan 3,015, West Azerbaijan 2,967, Kurdistan 2,096, North Khorasan 2,009, Kerman 1,753, Hormozgan 1,540, Yazd 1,521, Qazvin 1,054, Zanjan 1,068, Ilam 948, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 812, and South Khorasan 799.

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?

Friday, October 2, 2020, marks the 321st day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.
