NUMBER OF VICTIMS (AS OF Aug 21, 2020, 6:00 PM CEST):
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced this afternoon, Aug 21, 2020, that Coronavirus has taken the lives of more than 92,300 in 394 cities across Iran. The death toll in various provinces include: 6576 in Khorasan Razavi, 6289 in Khuzestan, 4470 in Qom, 4091 in Isfahan, 3817 in Lorestan, 2946 in Sistan and Baluchistan, 2723 in East Azerbaijan, 2715 in Alborz, 2603 in Fars, 2373 in Hamedan, 2207 in Kermanshah, 1859 in Kurdestan, 1214 in Hormozgan, 1104 in Yazd, 1085 in Ardabil, 760 in Ilam, 612 in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, 530 in Kohgiluyehn and Boyer Ahmad, 484 in South Khorasan. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

MEK Supporters and the Resistance Units Commemorate Martyrs of the 1988 Massacre Throughout Iran
On the 32nd anniversary of the massacre of the political prisoners in 1988, Resistance Units and the young supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) paid tribute to the martyrs of the massacre. They called for the perpetrators of this heinous crime against humanity, who are now leaders and officials of this regime, to be brought to justice. They also expressed their abhorrence over the August 5, 2020 execution of Mostafa Salehi, a detained protester.

Memory of Iran’s 1988 Massacre Includes Shameful Silence by World Powers
On Tuesday, Amnesty International’s Farsi Twitter account posted a document from 1988 which recalled attention to the human rights organization’s effort to halt a then-ongoing massacre of political prisoners. The tweet proved two often-disputed facts about the massacre: that the international community had been warned in time for lawmakers and diplomats to take action, and that the killings proceeded with the knowledge and consent of all Iranian officials, not just a particularly hardline faction.

Iran: Grim Anniversary of the 1988 Massacre

Thirty-two years ago this month, a crime against humanity began in Iran. In a tempest of savagery that has not been surpassed since the end of the Second World War, the fascist theocracy began the systematic execution of political prisoners. Within months they had hanged over 30,000 men and women, mostly members and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin of Iran PMOI/MEK, the main democratic opposition to the mullahs. They were murdered on the orders of the psychotic Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, a man who claimed to be the voice of God on earth but was in fact the disciple of Satan.

- While the minimum health protocols and social distancing in the University Entrance Exams were not observed, Rouhani claimed that holding the Entrance Exams is a unique experience in the world and “as we did not allow Coronavirus outbreak to close the businesses, we did not allow the entrance exam and Muharram mourning to be shut down.”
- Isfahan University of Medical Sciences vice president: Three pregnant mothers lost their lives, and seven expectant mothers are no longer in good health. Apart from Kashan, and Aran va Bidgol, 500 new patients are identified in the Province daily. In the fall, the Coronavirus infections will increase by 3,000. In these circumstances, the reopening of schools has no justification. I will not send my child to school. (Mehr news agency, August 19)

Iran’s Regime Uses Entrance Exams and Its Resulting Mass Casualties To Prevent Uprising
Despite repeated warnings by health professionals on COVID-19, the Iranian regime held nationwide university entrance exams, without maintaining the promised health protocols.
Before holding the University entrance exams, the regime’s President Hassan Rouhani, and his health officials promised to hold these exams with “adequate health protocols,” such as at least two meters of distance between each participant.

Iranian political prisoner on hunger strike for ten days and counting
Political prisoner Ebrahim Khalil Sedighi Hamedani is on hunger strike protesting the transfer of his son, Behnam Salar Sedighi Hamedani, to the Urmia Intelligence Detention Center in Urmia Central Prison in northwest Iran. Authorities are imposing severe pressure on Salar. Wednesday marked the tenth day of Ebrahim’s hunger strike, despite his numerous illnesses and severe physical condition.
Ebrahim, who is currently being held in quarantine at Urmia Central Prison, has been on a hunger strike since August 9, protesting the transfer and pressure of his young son, Behnam Salar.

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?
Friday, August 21, 2020, marks the 279th day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.
