Mother of Majid Assadi urges international human rights organizations to take action to secure immediate release of this resistant political prisoner

Families of political prisoners in Iran undertook various acts of protest over the past days to restore freedom and rights of their loved ones in captivity.

The protest gathering of the families of political prisoners in Mashhad, an interview by the mother of political prisoner Majid Assadi, and the publication of a video clip by the wife of the Kurdish political prisoner Heydar Ghorbani after his death verdict was upheld, were among these protests.

Mothers, spouses, and relatives of political prisoners have always had a leading and significant role in defending the trampled human rights in Iran under the rule of dictatorships.

Nurses in Mashhad protest overdue wages

August 13 – Mashhad, northeast Iran: Hospital nurses protested unfair practices in paying their paychecks and officials’ refusal to implement nursing laws. This gathering was held outside the Razavi Khorasan province governorate.

Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 373 Cities Exceeds 87,300

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on August 12, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 373 cities across Iran had passed 87,300. The number of victims in Tehran is 21,470, Khorasan Razavi 6,388, Khuzestan 6,042, Mazandaran 4,099, Isfahan 3,828, Gilan 3,677, East Azerbaijan 2,500, Central Province 1,043, Semnan 1,090, Bushehr 1,050, Ardabil 1,025, Yazd 990, Zanjan 821, Qazvin 736, Ilam 690, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 577, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 485, and South Khorasan 444.

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?

Thursday, August 13, 2020, marks the 271st day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.
