The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI-MEK) announced this afternoon, July 31, 2020, that Coronavirus has taken the lives of more than 80,100 in 347 cities across Iran. The death toll in various provinces include: 19,950 in Tehran, 5,993 in Khorasan Razavi, 3,715 in Mazandarah, 3,405 in Gilan, 2,070 in Fars, 1,945 in Kermanshah, 1,185 in Kerman, 1,010 in Semnan, 1,005 in Hormozgan890 in Ardebil, 640 in Qazvin, and 420 in Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmed. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

Workers of the Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Company have been on strike and protesting their working conditions for nearly 50 days. Workers and employees of this company have gone several times on strike and held various protests for not receiving their wages for consecutive months and the criminal policy of privatization.    

The workers have marched numerously, chanting slogans against company officials and their deceptive measures to plunder the workers under the pretext of privatization, as well as the regime’s officials, particularly the governor of Khuzestan province.

  • Letter of the Assembly of Iranian Medical Associations to Rouhani: If 200 deaths and 2,000 newly infected patients are registered daily today, in the next three months this number will increase to 1,600 deaths per day, if the instructions are not observed seriously.
  • Spokesperson for the Health Ministry: At present, all parts of the country are infected with the Coronavirus.
  • Deputy Governor of Fars: Out of 36 cities of Fars Province, 19 cities are red and have critical conditions, 15 cities are yellow, i.e., alert conditions, and two cities are virus-free.
  • Rouhani: “The trajectory of the disease is softening and moving past the peak of the outbreak, and in almost all provinces except for two, the proper process is underway to contain the disease.”

Starting at 9 am Wednesday morning, July 29, the families of death row inmates who were arrested during the December 2017 and January 2018 nationwide uprising rallied outside the regime’s judiciary building in the city of Isfahan, central Iran, protesting the unjust execution rulings against their loved ones. During this gathering the families of these inmates called for a fair and open-door trial with the media also present to guarantee adequate due process.

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?

Friday, July 31, 2020, marks the 258th day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE UPRISING:
