On the eve of the Free Iran Global Summit, 120 cross-party Members of Parliament from the United Kingdom issued a statement condemning the executions carried out by the mullahs’ regime. They call for the perpetrators of the 1988 massacre of Iranian political prisoners to be tried. They are also alarmed by recent terrorist plots by the Iranian regime against members of the opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK) in Europe and the US, which led to the arrest of an Iranian diplomat, Assadollah Assadi, and three other terrorists, who are currently in jail in Belgium. The committee announced its support for the ten-point plan for a future Iran by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). The MPs stressed that the waves of Iran protests in November 2019 called for the rejection of the religious dictatorship from the international community, chanting slogans targeting Ali Khamenei, the regime’s supreme leader, and the IRGC.
They also called on the British government to designate the IRGC in the terrorist list and Stand by the people and Iranian Resistance led by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi and implement a decisive policy against the Iranian regime.

STATEMENT ON IRAN
We are deeply concerned by the high number of executions and crackdown in Iran under President Hassan Rouhani. Human rights groups report Iran has carried out more than 3,800 executions since Rouhani took office as President. Iran, under the mullahs’ regime, holds the infamous title of the world’s record-holder of execution of minors.
We are appalled by the impunity enjoyed by perpetrators of Iran’s 1988 massacre of 30,000 political prisoners. Some currently hold senior positions, including Head of the Judiciary and Minister of Justice. We are concerned that former Justice Minister Mostafa PourMohammadi in August 2019 vowed to continue the massacre, which targeted members of the opposition People’s Mojahedin (PMOI or MEK).
We are also alarmed by recent terrorist plots by the Iranian regime against the PMOI in Europe and the US, which led to the arrest of an Iranian diplomat, Assadollah Assadi, and three other terrorists, who are currently in jail in Belgium. We condemn any attempt to interfere with the prosecution of these terrorists.
Furthermore, we are alarmed by the Iranian regime’s destabilising activities in the region including the seizing a British tanker in international waters.
We believe inaction over Tehran’s terrorism and human rights violations, as concessions to the regime, would only embolden the regime to continue such nefarious activities.
We support the popular protests in Iran against corruption and suppression, and we support the 10-point plan for a future free Iran as outlined by Maryam Rajavi, Presidentelect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).
We join Mrs. Rajavi in calling on Her Majesty’s Government to impose restrictions on Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) in the interest of the Iranian people and regional peace and security and the long-term interests of the UK. We urge Her Majesty’s Government to proscribe the IRGC and Iran’s Intelligence Ministry as terrorist organisations under the Terrorism Act.
Finally, we urge Her Majesty’s Government to recognise the right of the Iranian people for democratic regime change and achieve democracy and freedom.
