Iran’s Regime Raises Domestic Repression Against the MEK

Iran’s regime Raises Domestic Repression against the MEK
Iranians MEK supporters rally in Sweden-July 2019

On July 17, advocates for democracy in Iran will be holding a series of gatherings across five continents, which will be simultaneously broadcast under the title, “Free Iran Global Summit.” The event, organized by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), takes the place of the centralized rally that had previously been held for 15 consecutive years near the coalition’s headquarters in France. The change in format was made necessary by the coronavirus pandemic, but the organizers anticipate that the emphasis on remote participation will actually increase the overall numbers.

Lack of Water Breaks Backs of Women in Sistan and Baluchestan

Lack-of-Water-Breaks-Backs-of-Women-in-Sistan-and-Baluchestan

Sistan and Baluchestan is the most deprived province of Iran, and its people must confront poverty and the lack of basic infrastructure, including an adequate water system. Girls and women in Sistan and Baluchestan suffer from various diseases as a result of the water shortages.

Sistan and Baluchestan Province has a unique potential in the mining sector due to its location on the world’s metal and mineral belts, with rich reserves such as copper, chromite, manganese, and gold. However, because of the corruption of and looting by the ruling authorities, residents of this province are among the poorest people in Iran.

The Propaganda Campaign That Has Withered

lies_myths_facts

For the past four decades, the theocratic regime in Iran has endeavored to slander its main democratic opposition, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) – also referred to as the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) – in order to foster the perception that there is no viable alternative to the ruling dictatorship. There are, however, growing indications that Tehran’s ferocious demonization campaign against the MEK has lost much of its strategic effectiveness. Characterized by censorship and violent persecution of pro-MEK sentiment in Iran and a smear campaign in the Western media, the effort has failed to erase the power of the MEK’s message of hope and change. Despite attempts to downplay and/or eliminate the Mojahedin’s influence in Iran and the Iranian diaspora, the movement’s deep roots have prevailed.

Over-69300-dead-of-coronavirus-COVID-19-in-Iran-Iran-Coronavirus-Death-Toll-per-PMOI-MEK-sources

  • Rouhani’s ridiculous warning against “Coronavirus fearmongering” and ludicrous boast that Iran’s situation is better than other countries
  • Chairman of Tehran City Council: Up to 70%, the blame for the reemergence of the Coronavirus outbreak is with the government
  • Deputy Head of the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT) in Tehran: The situation in Tehran is red, and all the healthcare capacity is used, and more than 100 hospitals out of 180 are used for Coronavirus patients
  • Head of Khomeini Hospital: The number of patients has increased five times compared to the last three weeks, and they are in a worse condition

Iran’s economic bankruptcy will have political implications

The official currency exchange rate in Tehran’s stock market has surpassed 200,000 rials per dollar.
On June 19, the rate was about 180,800 rials/dollar, but in less than two weeks, it has increased by more than 20%.
Rouhani & other government officials mentioned the IAEA resolution & the resolution’s presentation by the UN Secretary-General to the Security Council as the main reason for the rate increase.
While the regime is facing an economy/currency crisis, its missile developments continue & billions of dollars are used to support regional terrorism.
The regime’s policy is to impose economic pressure on the people
Through domestic economic pressure, the regime seeks to have Iran’s people focus only on making ends meet to prevent popular protests.
But it seems that the regime’s own officials are afraid of this policy’s consequences.
June 30 – Government spox Ali Rabiei acknowledged the warning signs and effects of “insecure currents inside the country.”
In the face of protests & uprisings, the regime’s policy is to launch a bloody crackdown.
Sooner or later, the regime will face the consequences of its destructive economic and social policies
The November 2019 nationwide uprising is bound to repeat itself.
This is one of the signs of a crisis-riddled dictatorship during the last phase of its reign.

Iranian people resort to protests due to poverty during the coronavirus: Regime’s Minister of Health

Of the one billion dollars that the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei allocated to fight coronavirus, we have received “less than 30 percent,” said Health Minister Saied Namaki. “Why should I, as the Health Minister, have to hesitate in my remarks before a senior official… I haven’t appeared before cameras much recently, because I have been very disappointed… Instead of telling me you go worry about health issues, we’ll support you with the economy, the Health Minister has to now worry about the economy more than the people’s health. The personnel should be told to write protocols on how to reopen and not how to close. We receive security reports, that [people] are resorting to protests due to poverty. This is serious. The President and the security forces must think of the economy and preventing protests,” Namaki said on Wednesday. “I have a memoir of the COVID-19 days, and I will publish it if I live longer,” he threatened. “And if that day comes that those who are very dear are attacked despite all their hard work during this period, I will be forced to say things that will be far more than many can tolerate,” he added.

The executions of three individuals arrested during the November 2019 uprising across Iran have been upheld by the regime’s Supreme Court

Despite constant denials by the Iranian regime’s judiciary for several days, the lawyer of three individuals arrested during the November 2019 nationwide uprising in Iran confirmed on Friday, July 10, that the regime’s judiciary has upheld the death sentences issued for his young clients.

“Unfortunately, the death sentences issued for my clients were upheld by the Supreme Court despite our appeals. To this day we have not been allowed access to the files and the case,” the lawyer wrote in a social media post.

Back in late June the regime’s Supreme Court first upheld death sentences issued for Amir Hossein Moradi, Saied Tamjidi and Mohammad Rajabi, three political prisoners arrested during Iran’s November 2019 nationwide uprising, according to a report published on June 24, on the Hrana website.

A network of 27 state agencies suppresses Iranian women by enforcing the mandatory Hijab

“A network of 27 state agencies suppresses Iranian women by enforcing the mandatory Hijab,” is the name of a study published by the Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran.

Repression at home and export of terrorism and fundamentalism abroad are the two prongs of the strategy adopted by the misogynist and medieval regime ruling Iran to preserve its rule. Iranian women have always been the first victims of domestic repression under the pretext of enforcing the mandatory Hijab.
