Another Setback for Iran Regime’s Propaganda Against MEK
A German court has just ruled in favor of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, in a case challenging the content of a newspaper article purporting to describe the situation in a compound near the Albanian capital of Tirana, Ashraf-3, that houses members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran(PMOI-MEK). Both the compound and the MEK have been targets of extensive disinformation campaigns by the Iranian government ever since members of the MEK finished relocating to Albania from Iraq.
The recent court ruling made it clear that the article, published on May 13 in the Frankfurter Allgemeiner Zeitung, had violated essential journalistic standards in presenting certain allegations as factual, and would have still been in violation even if the relevant allegations had been presented with a less definitive tone.
