The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced on Thursday, June 4, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 325 cities across Iran has risen above 49,300. The number of victims in Khuzestan is 3,835, Gilan 2,790, Mazandaran 2,763, Alborz 1,675, Lorestan 1,605, Hamedan 1,289, Kermanshah 1165, Kurdistan 970, North Khorasan 553, Ilam 315, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 305, Hormozgan 260, and South Khorasan 150.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Health announced today that 3,574 new cases of virus infection had been identified in the past 24 hours, the highest number since the onset of the disease in the past four months. At the same time, the regime’s officials and state media outlets describe the situation as, “terrifying  in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad,” “the unbridled outbreak of Coronavirus in Gilan,” “The new wave of Coronavirus in Tehran,” “the tip of the disease iceberg in Khuzestan,” “alarming Coronavirus spread in Gachsaran,” and “return of Restrictions to Kurdistan.”

Meanwhile, Rouhani once again blamed the people for the situation, saying, “Instructions and social distancing should be taken seriously by the people and businesses. If these warnings are not taken seriously in any part of the country, and the disease spreads there again, the authorities will have to return the restrictions, which will both disrupt the normal lives of citizens and cause serious economic damage to society.” Reported the state official news agency, IRNA, today.

In Khuzestan, the secretary of the Epidemiology Committee of Ahvaz University of Medical Sciences told the state TV yesterday, “During the past month, the minimum statistics have increased a lot … It has been increasing every week. Not a week has gone by without the numbers rising. Unfortunately, the last three weeks have seen a sharp increase, so the level of infection in the community is much higher than we see.” In response to a reporter’s question from Khuzestan’s state TV, on June 2, quoting others who dispute the actual [Coronavirus statistics] is four times the [announced figures] or ten times? He replied, “Many believe more … The statistics we see are only the tip of the iceberg.” The head of Abadan University of Medical Sciences, speaking to the state TV, yesterday, reported 114 cases and six deaths in the southwest of Khuzestan alone.

In Tehran, a member of the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT) told the state news agency, Rokna, today, “The number of patients has increased compared to the past, especially in Imam Hospital, which has been our reference. With the opening of public places, restaurants, etc. we expect a further increase in the number of patients.”

In Kurdistan, the regime’s governor was quoted by the IRGC affiliated website, Javan today, as saying, “The situation in Sanandaj is critical in terms of the coronavirus spread and infection.” He announced the closing of several guilds in Sanandaj … for 72 hours.

In Gilan, the IRGC affiliated news agency, Fars, yesterday reported the “widespread outbreak of Coronavirus.” “The increase in the number of hospitalizations in recent days indicates the prevalence of the second peak of Coronavirus in the Province … Unfortunately, the rate of Coronavirus transmission is very high,” said the president of the University of Medical Sciences speaking to Javan news site yesterday. He noted that “1,000 nurses and 60 doctors from among the 4,000 nurses and 400 doctors who provided services to Coronavirus patients in Gilan were unfortunately infected with the virus.”

In Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, the IRNA news agency today described the situation “on the brink of Coronavirus crisis” and wrote, “Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad’s Coronavirus news is alarming.” At the same time, Fars news agency reported that “the Coronavirus’ alarm sounded in Gachsaran” and quoted the governor of the city as saying, “Now the situation in this city is declared red.”

The state tv’s news agency quoted the president of the Medical Sciences University in West Azerbaijan as saying today that the current situation “is a warning sign for the renewed spread of the virus among the population. In addition to the increase in the number of patients, they come to hospitals suffering more than before, especially from lung problems.”

The IRGC mouthpiece, Javan, wrote yesterday, in different provinces, including in Tehran and Khuzestan, many people are being hospitalized due to Coronavirus. Massoud Mardani, a member of the NCCT, said, “12 percent of those hospitalized die because of Coronavirus.”

From all indications, Khamenei and Rouhani have sent the people to the altar of Coronavirus by forcing them to go back to work.

On April 5, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said in this respect, “The criminal decision by (the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali) Khamenei and (his President Hassan) Rouhani to order the people back to work will result in countless victims. Rouhani’s directive to resume ‘business and economic activities’ endangers the health of millions of Iranians. Contrary to universally-recognized standards, instead of providing the minimum means of subsistence to the Iranian people by using the funds in economic entities controlled by Khamenei and IRGC, which have been stolen from the Iranian nation in the first place, the mullahs’ regime is sending the Iranian people to the altar of Coronavirus. Incompetence, pilfering, and tremendous class differences under the ruling theocracy aggravate the scope of the catastrophe every day.”

The NCRI President-elect added today: Now, two months later, everyone can see that to forestall the uprising and overthrow, the ruling religious dictatorship has adopted the strategy of mass casualties. But this will someday backfire and destroy the regime.
