Iran: Coronavirus Update, Over 33,800 Deaths, April 22, 2020, 6:00 PM

NUMBER OF VICTIMS (AS OF APRIL 22, 2020, 6:00 PM CEST):

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) announced this afternoon, April 22, 2020, that Coronavirus has taken the lives of more than 33,800 in 295 cities across Iran.

The death toll in various provinces include: 5,770 in Tehran, 3090 in Qom, 2,660 in Razavi Khorasan, 2310 in Isfahan, 1570 in Khuzestan, 1325 in Eastern Azerbaijan, 1095 in Golestan, 1075 in Western Azerbaijan, 900 in Kermanshah, 880 in  Fars, 840 in Hamedan, 755 in Lorestan. This is in addition to cases registered in other provinces.

PMOI/MEK Resistance Units took to graffiti against the dictatorship in Iran. They also install posters of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and the NCRI President Maryam Rajavi in Iran’s cities. They wrote:

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 294 cities across Iran has exceeded 33,400.

The number of victims in Tehran is 5,690, Qom 3050, Khorasan Razavi 2,620, Gilan 2,470, Isfahan 2,235, Mazandaran 2,190, West Azerbaijan 1,050, East Azerbaijan 1,318, Zanjan 465, and Sistan and Baluchestan 395.

Thousands of Iranians workers staged gatherings to protests issues related to their wages and work conditions during Iran’s COVID-19 crisis.
A number of these gatherings by laborers in factories and industrial companies were as follows:
On Monday, railroad workers in Tehran’s Islamshahr went on strike demanding their outstanding wages. They have not received their salaries for the past four months.
Iran Merinus Factory workers in Qom held a gathering outside the factory to protest a delay in the factory contracting the workers. The factory makes wool products.

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?

Wednesday, April 22, 2020, marks the 160th day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE UPRISING:

Number of martyrs: At least 1500

Number of injured: More than 4,000

Number of detainees: More than 12,000
