NCRI – The Gulf States are concerned about the disappearance of the radioactive components in the nuclear power plant of Bushehr Southern Iran
A device that carried a nuclear radiation was lost in Bushehr power plant and this issue questioned the safety controls that have been exerted in the power plant. Bushehr nuclear power plant is located just a few kilometers far from the Gulf States.

On November 24th 2016,Al Arabiya Persian Network reported from the trans-regional newspaper “Asharq al-Awsat” that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are following the consequences for losing one of the radioactive components that belonged to the nuclear reactor of Bushehr. This component could pollute the waters of the Gulf.

The head of the emergency situation in GCC, Adnan al-Tamimi said: “all GCC members must call on the relevant authorities to declare a state of emergency regarding the radioactive pollution of Gulf waters so that they take measures for it.”

However, al-Tamimi assured that the lost device will lose half of its radiation power in 74 days. He stated that each Gulf countries have an early warning system for dealing with possible leakage of the nuclear radiation into the air, water and other vital elements in the environment.
He added:”we take action for such emergency condition since a vehicle that belonged to the Bushehr nuclear power plant was lost while it also carried a radioactive piece. Eventually, the vehicle was found but the radioactive piece was not connected to it. It is likely that the piece has been trafficked through the Gulf region.”

These statements are made while the region was not only concerned about the lost radioactive piece but also regarding the Tehran’s threats that were resumed after signing the nuclear deal.

On the other hand, the Iranian regime has raised a growing concern in the Middle East by increasing the production of heavy water and testing the illicit ballistic missiles. These measures are against the nuclear deal that Iran agreed to.

However, the political observers believe that Tehran will face a different attitude from the current republicans who are dominating the US policy now, if the Iranian regime ever violates or fail to implement the nuclear deal and the first sign of such consequence is the 10 year extension of sanctions against the regime that its law was passed in US Congress with 419 votes in favor.
