NCRI – The Iranian regime’s security and plainclothes agents raided on Sunday November 13 the home belonging to the political prisoner Zartosht Ahmadi Ragheb, arresting him and seizing his computer and belongings.
In response to Ahmadi Ragheb who asked about the reason for his arrest, the security forces said that “you’ll find out more in the court before the judge.”
The political prisoner had stated on Friday November 11 that, unless the ruling regime addresses the situation of the political prisoners who are on hunger strike, he, too, would go on a hunger strike at 10 am on Sunday November 13, demanding that all the prisoners of conscience including civil rights, labor and political activists be released from prison.
Ahmadi Ragheb had previously written in an essay on the arrest of Esmaeil Abdi that “the fact that the renters and embezzlers are free whereas those who love their people and country are kept in prison shows the utmost injustice in Iran.”
He continues: “I’ve repeatedly said and written that we should stand and protest against oppression. If I sit down, and you sit down, tomorrow will be our turn.”
Zartosht Ahmadi Ragheb was sentenced by an Iranian regime’s court to six months’ imprisonment on February 16, 2016 on charges of propaganda against the system and publishing critical content on his Facebook page.
Ahmadi Ragheb has also another case for his participation in protest rallies. He was arrested on November 23, 2015 along with some others in front of Evin Prison, regarding which he was released on bail on December 7, 2015.
