Iran: Another Victim of Acid Splashing

NCRI – A 25-year-old man from the city of Gotvand in Khuseztan province (southwest Iran) became the latest victim of acid splashing.  According to eye-witnesses, the young man was on his way back home on Thursday October 13 when he was attacked by passengers of a pickup vehicle who throw acid on him, according to state-run IRNA news agency.

The dispatcher in the emergency department of Karoun Hospital in Gotvand said: “This young man was transferred to hospital at 19:55 hours by Gotvand emergency 115 due to his injuries caused by acid splashing on him on the street.”

“The young man sustained injuries in the eyes, face, neck and abdomen, and after the initial treatment in the Emergency Department of Karun Hospital, he was transferred to Taleghani hospital in Ahvaz for further treatment of his burn,” she added.

Gotvand County with 74 thousand inhabitants is located in the north of the Khuzestan province.
