Death of a sick prisoner in Gohardasht Prison, Karaj
According to reports on Tuesday October 11, Javad Mohammad Zadeh, a prisoner with Hepatitis-C in ward 7, Hall 19 of the Gohardasht Prison, has died following the deterioration of his health status, this prisoner spent the last days of his life alone in a cell and in very difficult conditions. His health condition was so critical that he was not able to recognize the time and place or the people around him.

Mohammad Zadeh’s wardmates state that the prison’s repressive officials did not address his medical problems, the same way they treat other sick prisoners, including those who have communicable diseases.

A prisoner under torture hospitalized
Following his arrest by the security forces, Hasel Azizi was tortured and sent to hospital from Oshnavieh Prison, West Azerbaijan province (Western Iran).

According to an informed source, the security forces prevent Azizi’s family from visiting their son. The source added: “Hasel Azizi is currently being treated in the hospital due to being tortured by the security forces.”

Ninth day of hunger strike by political prisoner in Tabriz
Political prisoner Rasoul Razavi entered his eighth day of hunger strike in Tabriz Prison on Tuesday October 11.

In protest against the issued sentences and the pressure by the security forces in the proceedings, Razavi has gone on a hunger strike from Tuesday October 4 despite his poor physical conditions.

It should be pointed out that Razavi, charged with ‘disrupting public order’, was sentenced to 13 months in jail by Tabriz General Court for his participation in protests on November 9, 2015.
