NCRI – Iranian regime intelligence prevents criminal probe of the case of killing a prisoner under torture

According to the reports, the Iranian regime’s Intelligence department in the city of Mahabad (northwest Iran) prevented prosecution and criminal probe of the case of killing a prisoner under torture by the Intelligence agents.

Jalal Javanmard, 26, was arrested on Monday 18 July 2016 by the security forces affiliated with notorious Intelligence office in Mahabad and died two days later under torture in the intelligence prison. The intelligence department announced that the cause of his death was suicide and told his family that they would return his body to his family only if they declare Jalal has committed suicide.

More than two months after the incident, the Intelligence office in Mahabad officially and in writing prevented the judiciary from pursuing the case and announced that this is a security and counter-revolutionary case after Jalal’s family requested an investigation and prosecution of the perpetrators of this crime.
