Iran: New suppressive plan to combat dissent in Tehran

Iran: New suppressive plan to combat dissent in TehranNCRI – The commander of Greater Tehran State Security Forces (SSF) Brig. Gen. Morteza Talai announced six thousand people had been arrested on "drug charges," in Tehran, according to state-run media reports. He described youths and dissidents as "thugs and hooligans" and unveiled a plan to "exterminate some districts expeditiously" from such elements in the next two weeks.

In the past three months, the mullahs’ regime has attempted to stop popular uprisings by introducing suppressive plans such as "chastity," "undercover patrols," "neighborhood watch," "dormitory police," "mountain police, " among others, in which many youths were arrested.

These suppressive measures in the country’s regions and cities such as Tehran, Azerbaijan, Sistan and Baluchistan, Khuzistan and Kerman are meant to suppress further spread of uprisings and demonstrations.
