Syrian opposition Colonel speaks out against massacre in Aleppo

NCRI – Colonel Abdul Jabbar al-Oqaidi, a former Commander of the Syrian opposition Military Council of Aleppo, has discussed the brutal and unprecedented attacks against Aleppo and the killing of innocent people in this city by the forces backing Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.

“God bless our pious martyrs. Aleppo is one of the oldest cities in history. Assad’s regime has been fatigued by Aleppo. That is why Assad and the Iranian and Russian regimes hold a grudge against Aleppo and commit murders and crimes to kill the women and children of this city. Aleppo has also fatigued Assad’s affiliated force, i.e. ISIS, and it has battled against them. At this moment, only the revolutionaries of Aleppo fight against ISIS. Revolutionaries are the only people who fight against the Iraqi mercenary militias, Lebanese Hezbollah and against the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. As a result, the enemy exerts their anger and hatred on Aleppo,” Col. al-Oqaidi said last week.
“Aleppo has constantly stood up against the [Syrian] regime for more than four years. Assad spoke about removing the opposition in this city. In July 2012, he stated that he would remove all those he called ‘terrorists’ and armed groups in Aleppo within 10 days. Now four years have passed and Assad has not made any progress in Aleppo, but on the contrary we have made an advance on installations, Battalion 46 and other military bases, and we have liberated the Menagh Military Airbase.”

“Now the regions occupied by the enemy in the south of Aleppo are taken back by the revolutionaries. Many militias of the Iranian regime, Hezbollah, and Iraqi and Afghan mercenaries were killed and many of them have become captive.”

Referring to the ceasefire that was recently proclaimed in Aleppo, Col. al-Oqaidi said: “What sort of ceasefire is the international community speaking of? A ceasefire in which women and children are being killed in the refugee camps? Basically, no ceasefire exists. We were committed to the ceasefire and we got along with the UN Security Council resolutions and the delegation of negotiators. As a matter of fact, the criminal Assad’s regime does not understand anything but the language of force.”

“The international community is merely witnessing the planned slaughter of the citizens and it does not take any action. Therefore, the opposition naturally needs weapons and aid,” he pointed out.
