“Expel Iranian regime’s terrorist agents from Iraq”: London rally

NCRI – Criminal terrorist operations in Iraq by agents of the Iranian religious dictatorship was condemned in a rally outside the US embassy in London today. Participants in the rally particularly deplored bombing of water supply pipeline to Ashraf City, home to thousands of members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, north of Baghdad.

The state-run TV in Iran quoted Iraqi Prime Minister on Wednesday, July 19, as saying that his government plans to repatriate residents of Ashraf City to Iran.

Supporters of the Resistance called on competent international bodies, US and other member states of the Coalition Forces to intervene and stop mullahs’ meddling in Iraq and conspiracies against the PMOI based in Ashraf City. They also condemned pressures upon the new Iraqi government by the clerical regime to impose further restrictions on residents of Ashraf.

“Expel terrorist agents of mullahs’ regime from Iraq,” chanted demonstrators outside the US embassy in London.

On Tuesday, July 17, the water pipelines from the Tigris River to Ashraf City was blown up. Following the disruption of water supply to Ashraf at 19:00 and a subsequent investigation of the surrounding areas, it became clear that the agents of the mullahs’ regime were directly involved. The pipeline explosions occurred in Zorganeh region, 15 kilometers west of Ashraf.

A delegation representing the demonstrators in London delivered a letter to the US embassy addressed to the Ambassador. It called on his government’s immediate intervention in the event of Iranian regime’s terrorist meddling in Iraq.

In the meantime another delegation delivered a letter to the Iraqi embassy in London addressed to the Prime Minister. The letter underlined the status of the PMOI members in Iraq as protected persons under the Fourth Geneva Convention and reminded that the Multi-National Forces are responsible of upholding the convention. It reiterated that any violations of the international conventions are considered as war crimes. The letter in the end called on the Iraqi government to reaffirm the political refugee status of the PMOI members who have been in Iraq for the past 20 years.
