“We must support the People’s Mojahedin of Iran” (Belgian MP)

Jean-Pierre Malmendier, Belgian MP :NCRI – “We must support the Iranian people and its resistance for a democratic change in Iran. We obviously are all in favour of this third option”, stated Jean-Pierre Malmendier, member of Belgian Parliament, before 30,000 Iranians in Le Bourget near Paris. They gathered on July 1st to express support for a democratic change in Iran with Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance. Here are extracts from his speech:

I am pleased to be with you once again. It is heart-warming to see more and more people at each meeting. Three days ago in my country, in Belgium, the corpses of two little girls were missing. For two weeks, the country was in great distress. Eventually, the two little girls have been found murdered by a perverted criminal. This made me think about the young girls and young boys within your people in Iran who are the victims of perverts manipulated by the regime which currently governs your country.

The June 17, 2003 attack was the result of a shameful agreement between French authorities and the Iranian regime. It took place at a moment when there were still illusions about the regime’s capacity for reform. Today, one year later, with the arrival in power of the lackey of the mullahs, the world has to take a stand towards Iran, keeping in mind that appeasement has failed, that war is certainly not a solution and that the best option is the third option proposed by Mrs Rajavi in her historical address in the European Parliament in December 2004.

We must support the Iranian people and its resistance for a democratic change in Iran. We obviously are all in favour of this third option. Consequently, I would like to remind you that this change cannot be achieved as long as the European Union continues to invest in the Iranian regime by keeping the opposition on the terror list. This has to change immediately. We must support the People’s Mojahedin, they have proven that they were the best organized force and the only hope to bring a change in their country.

In Belgium, the Senate and the House of Representatives passed a resolution demanding the European Union to reconsider its position regarding the People’s Mojahedin and the Iranian Resistance. This is the first step, this is the first step in Belgium, this is a first step in two legislative houses. It won’t be too long.

I would really want to greet my friends in Ashraf. I heard that they could follow our meeting live and I tell them that their resistance against the strength and the efforts of the fanatical regime to bring instability in Irak is welcomed by us all and that one day we will say that they may have saved the world from a third world war.

Thank you for your attention and I address my greetings to Mrs Rajavi that I am pleased to meet for the second time and for whom I have great respect.
