At least 11 people have been killed after flash floods hit several regions of Iran at the end of last week.

Six people died on Friday in Pakdasht, southeast of the capital Tehran, when they attempted to have a picnic by the side of a river which then burst its banks.

And in Iran’s southern Hormozgan, four people including two children were also killed by flooding on Friday. State television said they had gathered next to a river to watch the flooding when they were swept away.

Flooding was reported in 10 provinces across Iran.
