The Iranian regime’s proxy group in Iraq Asaib al-Haq terror group has boasted of carrying out 5,000 military attacks against US and coalition forces in Iraq between 2004 and 2001.

They also bragged that 73 per cent of casualties of US forces in Iraq were the responsibility of their Iraq-based paramilitary organisation.

Iranian-born Sheikh Jaber Rajabi, 31, spokesman for Asaib al-Haq in Iraq, told Iran’s state-run Fars news agency: “We see ourselves committed to the Velayat-e faqih (Ali Khamenei) and we believe it is not possible to limit the Velayat-e faqih to Arabic and Iranian issues or within geographical borders.

“The military operations by Asaib al-Haq against the occupying forces began in 2004 and until 2011 some 5,000 military operations were carried out with one of the biggest being the ‘Karbala’ attack that forced the occupying forces to leave the city in 2006.

“In the last year of the American forces presence in Iraq, when most of the forces put down their arms based on an agreement, Asaib al-Haq announced that it was following the Lebanese Hezbollah model of resisting occupation, and we even targeted the US Embassy in Iraq in last days.

“A US General said in a confidential meeting at the US congress in 2010 that 73 percent of casualties of American forces in Iraq came from Asaib al-Haq.

“In one of our operations when a large logistic American plan came to Iraq’s Diyala province, three of our forces entered the US base and destroyed it and left the base without any casualties. Also in another incident, we took another American General hostage and later we exchanged him.

“As we did not know how much longer the occupiers would remain in Iraq, we began building weapons locally.”

Rajabi described the group as the same as the Badr Organization and Kataeb Hezbollah and added: “The different names should not mislead the enemy into believing that there are any division between them.
“Once we expel ISIS, we will not let (the arrogance) regain power and return. We want to uproot their political and ideological roots.

“When the leader of all Muslims in the world (Ali Khamenei) openly supports resistance groups against world arrogance, this is an explicit message which has been proven in the field of action.”
