Five Afghans dispatched by Iranian regime killed in Syria

burial-killed-in-syriaNCRI – Five Afghans who had been dispatched to Syria by the Iranian regime and killed fighting for Bashar al-Assad were buried Saturday in the Iranian city of Qum.

The five men, Issa Hosseini, Raaouf Shaabani, Gholam Mohammad Ahmadi, Mustafa Khademi and Hadi Salimi were all citizens of Afghanistan.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been recruiting thousands of Afghan refugees to fight against the Syrian people.

The Afghan refugees are granted residency in Iran, $500 a month to fight for Bashar Assad, according to Afghan and Western officials, Wall Street Journal reported in May.
Over the past month there has been a rise in burials held in Iran for those killed fighting in Syria.

At least 15 men who have been buried in cities of Qum, Mashhad, Varamin, and Shahrood.

Those killed included citizens of Afghanistan, members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC) and a cleric.
