Iran: Official admits hands of five prisoners amputated in secret last year

NCRI – Mohammad Reza Habibi, former public prosecutor of Isfahan Province, admitted five inmates’ hands were amputated in this province’s prisons in the past year alone.

On September 7th at his farewell session he admitted that these crimes were carried out in secret and “due to the enmity of foreign media outlets.” He said to be at the “front lines of the fight against crimes and providing security”, Isfahan’s judiciary carried out these verdicts based on Khamenei’s orders with “speed, precision and firmness”.

According to this regime official in addition to amputating five hands, Isfahan’s judiciary has also executed a number of thieves who had conducted an armed robbery of gold retailers, hanging them under the charge of ‘mohareb’.

This is only the tip of the iceberg of the vast amount of crimes that are taking place day and night in this regime’s dungeons and safe houses, without any news of them being published.

Javad Larijani, head of the so-called Human Rights Office in the mullahs’ judiciary, who is also the theoretician of torture and stoning in the mullahs’ judiciary apparatus, said last month in defense of the regime’s criminal record, “We are proud of this judiciary system, and we defend retribution and even stoning.” (State-run TV – August 5, 2014)

The public and official justification by senior regime officials regarding the inhumane verdicts of retribution, stoning, physical and psychological torture in the regime’s prisons on one hand show the scope of the crimes committed by this regime’s torturers in its dungeons; and on the other hand it shows how ridiculous is the slogan of ‘moderation’ in this regime, and how it is only a pretext for the sponsors of the appeasement policy to neglect human rights violations and crimes against humanity.
