Iranian Resistance calls to save life of political prisoner Zahra Zehtabchi

NCRI – The Iranian Resistance is calling on all international human rights and women’s rights organizations and activists to take urgent action for the release of political prisoner Mrs. Zahra Zehtabchi, 46, sociologist and social sciences researcher, and the mother of two 20 and 8-year old daughters.

Mrs. Zehtabchi was arrested by the Iranian regime’s Ministry of Intelligence agents on October 16، 2013. Yet nearly 10 months later she remains in solitary confinement of the women’s section in Evin Prison.

This has led to serious physical disorders for this political prisoner. Interrogators have threatened her family to not inform media outlets about her conditions, or else it would have dire consequences.

Mr. Ali Asghar Zehtabchi, the father of Zahra Zehtabchi, was a renowned Tehran bazaar merchant executed in 1981 at the age of 40 for supporting the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
