Iran: Regime threatens to expel pupils who don’t pay towards its anniversary ceremonies

NCRI – Parents of Iranian schoolchildren have protested at being asked to pay up to 100,000 tomans per child towards the expenses of state-run ceremonies held on anniversary of mullahs coming to power.

In the city of Najafabad, parents of elementary and high school students protested outside the ministry of education office on Wednesday.

One parents said a school official has threatened to expel their child or lower their grades if the payment was not made. He said he has recorded the telephone conversation.

Meanwhile, officials at Dizelabad prison in the city of Kermanshah have told some prisoners that they will only be granted temporary prison leave if they take part in rallies organized by the regime for the anniversary.

Others reports said the regime had distributed a lottery tickets at a demonstration in the city of Khoramabad, southern Iran, and promised they would win if they attended the rally.

Also in Khoramabad, school pupils were told if they did not attend the celebrations their grades would be lowered.

The Iranian regime is known to be using various tactics to force people attend its staged show rallies, including threatening widespread threats to students, government employees and other public workers.
