Dozens of youths have defied Iranian security forces to take part in the ceremony in the city of Khalfieh to remember two Arab political prisoners executed last week.
Cultural activists Hashem Shabaninejad and Hadi Rashedi were both transferred to an unknown location on January 26 and put to death, the regime’s intelligence ministry reported.
The ministry had ordered the victims’ families to hold the funerals at their houses and within 24 hours – but demonstrators flouted the ban to wave banners and chant slogans in memory of the men.
