Iranian regime postpones execution of prisoner after protest

The Iranian regime’s henchmen at the main prison in the city of Sanandaj in western Iran postponed the hanging of a young man after a large crowd protested outside prison.

Members of families of Omar Shahbazi and many residents of Sanandaj had gathered early Wednesday morning outside the prison to protest Omar’s execution, according to reports from Iran.

As many residents joined the gathering, the state security force fired tear gas to disperse the angry protesters.

In order to end the protest, the authorities at the prison announced that the execution of Omar Shabazi had been postponed for a month.

In recent years, on numerous occasions members of families of those sentenced to death have been holding protests against execution in Iran.
