Student protests continue across Iran

A Student protest in IranIranian students are defying security forces to continue with their protests across the regime this week.

At Tehran’s Medical Science University, graduate and internship students protested against low wages. At Razi Kermanshah University, students chanted ‘Death to the dictator’ during a speech by a regime official at the university on December 11.

Students at Rafsanjan University boycotted a meeting by the university management concerning students’ issues.

At Shahre-kord University, students staged a protest on December 10 in anger at unsuitable facilities, timed to coincide with a visit by Science Ministry inspectors.

At Qom Azad University, students protested at the low education levels of professors. One student claimed that 85 per cent of the university’s professors had only just graduated and received their bachelors’ degrees.

Students at Honar University in Tehran also staged more protests on December 17, demanding the resignation of their dean, and to object to unsuitable conditions and oppressive security measures at the university. This protest was also joined by students at the Music College in the city of Karaj.
