Iran: Demonstrations and unrest erupt in Tehran University's dormitoryStudents confront SSF assault, force them into retreat

NCRI – Last night, Tehran University’s dormitory was the scene of antigovernment protests by students. Brig. Gen. Morteza Talai, commander of the State Security Forces for Greater Tehran, admitted the unrest, underscoring that the protests erupted "during night time" and prompted the dispatch of SSF to the dormitory.

The students clashed with the SSF and the protests spread to Kargar Shomali Street, forcing the suppressive forces to retreat.

Admitting the extensive nature of the clashes, Talai said 40 SSF agents "had been injured and hospitalized."

As the anniversary of the July 1999 approaches, the mullahs fear the outbreak of similar protests, and are doing their utmost to embark on a massive crackdown on students.

In the past three days, West and East Azerbaijan and Zanjan were the scenes of demonstrations by hundreds of thousands of people, which reflected the demand of the overwhelming majority of Iranians for the overthrow of the mullahs’ regime.
