Iran Protests – 23,24,25,26,27,28 October

October 27 and 28: 170 workers at the Zagros Iron factory gathered for the second day the Iranian regime’s parliament in Tehran before continuing their protest outside the Welfare and Labor Ministry to demand delayed and unpaid wages. The workers have not been paid for seven months and have not received their last year’s New Year bonus for overtime and hard work.

October 27: Following the execution of Kurdish political prisoner Reza Ismaeili, 34, in the city of Salmas on October 26 for ‘waging war against God’, protesters gathered outside the governor’s building in anger at the death sentence. Security forces reacted by imposing a strict security cordon around the city and surrounding villages.

October 26: Hundreds of teachers and employees at the education ministry in the province of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari gathered in the city of Shahr-e Kord to demand the resignation of the former executive director, who had hired his own relatives in ministry management posts to the anger of other employees.

Protesters chanted ‘get lost Nikhou’, before the current executive director ordered suspended sentences for seven of the protesters at the demonstration.
October 24 and 25: Workers at the lead factory in the city of Zanjan staged a protest outside the governor’s office against the sacking of other workers.

October 24: Protesters in Parsian, Hormozgan Province, posted placards on their car windows in anger at the separation of this city from the province.

October 23: Security forces were out in force as more than 300 residents of the Sarcheshmeh district in the city of Shahr-e Kord gathered outside the mayor’s office in anger at the failure of the city’s manager and mayor to construct any asphalt roads and pavements in an an area that has been residential for 15 years.
