Abuse of political prisoners continues across Iran

NCRI – A Kurdish political prisoner is being denied urgent medical treatment at Bandar Abbas prison in the latest abuse of inmates across the Iranian regime.

Karim Mousazadeh was arrested on July 29, 2009 and sentenced to six years behind bars, and now needs surgery for bleeding of the intestine.

Another political prisoner in ward 350 of Evin Prison went on hunger strike on October 17 in protest to the negligence of Tehran’s prosecutor towards his demands.

Assad-allah Asadi is suffering from arthritis in the back, knees and neck and problems in the mouth and teeth.

The 52-year-old retired education ministry employee from Tabriz was abducted on July 12, 2010, by intelligence ministry forces and spent months in solitary confinement.

He was sentenced to ten years and six months in prison on charges of cooperating with enemy countries.

Prison guards also severely beat political prisoner Iraj Mohammadi on October 19 in the central prison of Zahedan. The attack – by a guard named as Abdulhamid Mohammadian – happened as he was being transferred to the prison clinic.
